Jago Geerts withdraws from MXGP of Argentina
Jago Geerts geeft forfait voor MXGP van Argentinië
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP’s Jago Geerts has been ruled out of the opening round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Villa la Angostura, Argentina, after sustaining an arm injury in yesterday's Qualifying Race.
After falling at turn one, Geerts fell again after hitting a sharp kicker that consequently threw him over the handlebars on lap two. The talented rookie, who set the seventh fastest lap in Timed Practice, suffered severe pain in his left arm and went straight to the Bariloche Hospital for closer assessment. There, it was confirmed that his left clavicle and elbow were fractured.
Geerts will now travel home to Belgium, where he will consult with a specialist to determine the best course of action for his recovery. An update on his treatment plan and possible return to action will be shared on www.Yamaha-Racing.com when available.

Jago Geerts geef forfait voor MXGP van Argentinië
Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP-team) geef forfait voor de openingsronde van het FIM Motorcross Wereldkampioenschap in Villa la Angostura, Argentinië, nadat hij op zaterdag een armblessure opliep in de kwalificatierace.
Na een val in de eerste bocht viel Geerts opnieuw nadat hij een scherpe bult raakte die hem over zijn stuur gooide. De debutant in de MXGP, die de zevende snelste ronde neerzette in de tijdstraining, had veel pijn aan zijn linkerarm en werd meteen naar het Bariloche-ziekenhuis gebracht voor nader onderzoek. Daar werd bevestigd dat zijn linkersleutelbeen en -elleboog gebroken waren.
Geerts zal nu naar België reizen, waar hij een specialist zal raadplegen om de beste behandelingsmethode voor zijn herstel te bepalen. Een update over zijn revalidatie en mogelijke terugkeer zal worden gedeeld op www.Yamaha-Racing.com wanneer beschikbaar.
